remedied as far as possible by renering the underframes and they are now fairly satisfied, especially as they know that closed coaches will eventually be provided. I have offered to

send a train to pick up the rice and other products of the country at any points the villagers might choose to deposit them and though they like the idea there is nothing to come in just at present. Every complaint or suggestion is receiving careful attention: with new Rolling Stock, and the confidence of the villagers gained I think the line will eventually

prove a success.
